Weekend Recap

So it's Sunday night and we're all in our usual spots. Natalie's in the bed, John's playing WoW, and I'm hanging out on the couch. I've got a lot to share tonight, so grab a coke and get comfortable.

We had a bit of Deja vu' going on this weekend. Friday morning we had another visit from the plumber. Seems we didn't completely get the problem fixed. All is well now. (I hope) We had our monthly craft night that evening and for whatever reason I just couldn't get in gear. I got all of 2 pages done. One of them I'm not happy with and probably will re-do it. The other one I completed had been brewing around in my head. I used a pencil lines sketch for it. Here's the result of that. I started the latest scrapjacked page, but didn't get it finished, so I'll share that one later.

I was one of the last four to leave that night. I get all my junk loaded into my Jeep, hop in and it won't crank. Now if you remember just a week ago we went through this. I had a brand new battery in that car. So I jump out of the car and ask the other gals to hang on because the car won't start. Luckily I had jumper cables and luckily at least one of us knew how to jump a car off (thanks April!). But let me paint a picture for you. First off it was about 12:20 am by this time and the area we were in is not the best place to be hanging out in the parking lot in the middle of the night. Secondly, my lift springs on the hood don't work. So we had 2 people holding up the hood while the other two were cranking the cars. We got the thing started but it would die every time I let off the gas. Thanks to my sweet friend Alissa for taking me home. The back hatch wouldn't lock because the door paneling and relay are not connected right now due to the window issue I still have. The window's rigged up until the part comes in. I was wondering if when we went to pick it up Saturday if it might be up on blocks.

Well, Saturday morning I had planned to attend a Ladies Day at another area church and then realized this conflicted with some plans I had made with my brother. Throw in the fact that I also needed to take care of my car on blocks. As luck would have it my brother is Mr. Fixit. I don't care if we're talking cars, computers, sinks, roofs.. whatever.. he always knows what to do. So I knew he could go with me to take care of the car after we went to the estate auction we had planned to attend. Why are we attending an estate auction you ask? Because my loving brother has agreed to help me get my extra bedroom aka junk room, cleaned out and turned into a scrapbook room. AND he's building me a work space. So we were looking for a piece of furniture that could be used to construct what we have in mind. We didn't find anything that would work at the auction, so we then went to Target to look at their organization stuff. After listening to me describe what I wanted, looking at some of the stuff at Target, he sketched what he is going to build. This is my new table: If we don't find an old desk to modify, looks like we'll just be making a trip to Home Depot for the lumber. Ok.. I realize this is getting long and if you're still reading you deserve a medal. But let me just say I am so excited about my scrap space. I will post some before and after pics when the project is complete. And I have plans to do a RAK to celebrate the Grand Opening of my space.

Saturday evening we celebrated my Grandad's 81st Birthday. Happy Birthday PawPaw! There's nothing like some good home fried fish and hushpuppies. We then surprised him with a cake and ice cream party this afternoon. A busy weekend for sure. And if you're wondering what became of the car.. it cranked right up when we went to get it. Seems there is a bad connection on the battery. Thank goodness it's just a $3 fix for whatever the part is that's got to be replaced. And I'm so glad my brother.......>................ is such a handy man..

Edited to add.. I just found out my local radio station is having a cutest baby contest. Well of course mine is the cutest. LOL I'm thinking I may submit a picture of her but I have so many I need your help. Of the pictures I've posted of her over the last few weeks which is your favorite? All right all you family and friends that read my blog.. time to come out of hiding and help me pick a picture! :) Let me know which is your favorite in the comments. Thanks!!

The pic of Natalie is GORGEOUS!!! I love her dress! Also love the layout; I'm really liking those Pencillines sketches. (I also am hoping to do my Scrapjack today. We'll see!)
Hate that about your car, but great that you had friends who could help you out and get you home. Thank goodness!

Who would have thought that Jared, who used to pester us everytime I spent the night with you when we were younger, would turn into such a handy guy to have around! That's awesome that he's gonna fix you up a desk like that...it will be perfect! Cute pic of little baby Natalie. Sorry about your car problems, hopefully Jared will get you all taken care of. Good job on what pages you got done...I wish I could have done more.

I have to admit that Jared does do a good job as a handy man. He has helped me a time or two also. Looks as if there might be a fight on who is the cutest baby in the valley though. I think every mom thinks their baby is the cutest though. I like your newest picture the best of Natalie.

Leah, I was happy to drive you home! I'm just glad we were all there.

Now as far as the cutest baby contest. Your baby is definately cute, but I'm pretty fond of mine. :) My favorites of her on your post are the ones John took while she was sleeping and the first one under your "I've Been Tagged Post". Her expression seems so sweet and her eyes are gleaming in that one. I think that is my top pick.

I am glad the car issues seem to be resolved. I know how hard it is to try to pick out just 1 pic & send in. It's just impossible almost.

Ewww...that is a hard one! Mainly because I have never seen a bad picture of that girl! She is precious! I guess my favorite is the one from the last post...the first one...it is just adorable and her eyes are just all lit up. That is my pick! You are rocking and rolling on all these challenges and I think that is so awesome! You will definitely stay caught up with your scrapping if you keep going like you are...
Have a good night and take care...
Love ya!

I am so sorry to hear that you had more car problems Friday night. I have heard from several of you girls that no body got anything done the other night - is it because I stopped in for a quick visit and distracted you all? HA!

Tell me more about this baby contest... I think I like the one of Natalie on the last post - the close up in the stripe outfit. Her eyes are just too sweet!

Well, I don't think I am any good at choosing Just one... I love them all. My favorite is the one in the hat (the roaring 20s look) but all are good. The newest one with her bare feet showing is also a cutie. Hummm what to do??? I guess everyone thinks their baby or grand baby is the cutest but that she gets my vote. I just hope I can come see her and her not scream when she sees me. :-) She is my favorite baby!
love ya, Mom
