Twas the Night After Christmas..

I am sitting here looking at my ransacked living room and thinking about the huge job of organizing and finding a place for all the stuff my kids raked in today. It's pure madness. At one point the floor was non existent. It's still scarce. You just kinda have to make a path to get from one side to the other.
I'm so very very thankful though because lots of people don't have this "problem". We truly don't know what it means to actually "need" something. But I still am thinking what in the world am I gonna do with all this stuff? I'm sure a lot of you have the same question. This was our first Christmas with 2 kiddos so that question just multiplies with every new addition to the family.

The ONE thing Natalie asked for from Santa:And she told everybody about it. I mean everybody. It was funny to hear her repeat it every time. "Super WHY! DVD!". Unless you're a parent whose child watches PBS, you have no clue what this is, so when people asked her what she wanted Santa to bring her she had to repeat it several times. I'm so glad Santa was able to find it.

A couple of other fave pics from the past couple days:

Lots more Christmas pics to share and hopefully will get some scrapbooking done over the weekend. Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday!!

Scrapbook Sussie December Reveal

Long time, no blog, I know. Things have been busy and hectic around here. But nevertheless, I wanted to get my layouts posted for Sussies December kit. I did these several weeks ago and I know they are up on the Sussie Site now.

This last one was hard to do, and for any family reading please know that I don't mean it to be depressing. I want us to celebrate the life we did share with her and for her grandkids to know years down the road how much we loved her. I think of her alot at Christmas and if you click the layout to read the journaling you'll understand why.

Hope everyone is having a great holiday season!!

PigTails, Hugs and Kisses

I haven't been sure what to do with Nat's hair lately. As it gets longer, it just gets more out of control. It's thin and sometimes so frizzy. She won't keep a bow or hair clip in it, and for some reason only Obie (Grandmom) is allowed to put it in ponytails. For whatever reason she let me put it up today and even let me take some pictures of her in her Tinkerbell shirt.

I've been scrapping some. Here's a page I haven't posted yet. This one took me a while because I stamped the title and then cut out the letters. I don't use my stamps near enough, and I need to use them more!

I've still been editing all the Christmas pics the last few days and there are lots of those up on the photography blog if you haven't been over there in the last day or two. I still have a couple more sets to add.

Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving!

The Beauty of Photography

Obviously I love taking pictures.
I always have.
Even as a kid.
My brother can testify to that, as I made him pose in the most ridiculous of settings. One of which we hung my cabbage patch kid from the ceiling and I had him stand underneath it with an "oh no" kind of face, pretending to try and catch her. Proof is on my mother's bathroom wall, in a collage frame to this day.

Anyway, I was going through some pictures tonight, trying to clear up my C:drive and noticing how much Natalie has changed this year. So back to the fact that I love taking pictures. I can see her grow right before my very eyes.

It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas

I am editing photos tonight. LOTS of photos. I had the privilege of taking 10 families Christmas pics (including my own.) It was a lot of fun. Thanks so much to J and H for opening up their home for me and thank you to the other 9 families who trusted me enough for their Christmas photo. I hope you like them! I should have lots of them posted on my photography blog in the next couple of days.

Here's one of my two that makes me smile. Sometimes those not so perfect ones are perfect in their own way..
Off to edit...

edited to add: The first few are up! You can see them here. I'll let you guys know here as I get them up. :)

Overheard in the Car

Natalie: I can't see Mommy.

Me: You can't see?

Natalie: The sun's in my eyes!

Me: Well just close them baby, there's not anything I can do about that right now. God made the sun in the sky so we can have daylight.
You know what else God made?

Natalie: ummm

Me: God made the Sun, the Moon AND the Stars

Natalie: Oh yeah! (brief pause) Well, Good Job!!

Creative Scrappers and Simply Obsessed

A couple of pages to share tonight. This first one is for a contest over at Simply Obsessed. The funny thing is that I *just noticed that the pics on the right are the same. I had several shots and thought I picked two different ones. The extra was for Alan and Kelli, but looks like I used it. Oops. (I'll print you guys another one!)
The new sketch for the week is up at Creative Scrappers. Here's what I did for that.
Journaling reads:
I am so blessed to have you as my father. I could not have asked for a better man to look up to and admire. You are a testament to just how much God can accomplish when you put your faith and trust in him. Thank you for loving us and raising us in the Lord. You mean even more to me when I see what a wonderful G-pa you are to my girls. I Love you Dad!

Happy Monday everyone!

My Sweet Sweet Girls

Today has been a little crazy. It's John's weekend to work, so we're hanging out at the house and it's just been one of those days. The kind where the kid won't nap and the other kid has cried all day. I think she may be getting the cold that I'm getting over.

But isn't it cool how even on days like this we can find such joy in our children? They may drive us nuts, but they mean more to us than we ever thought possible.

I look at these two and am amazed that we made such beautiful children. (yeah, I'm a bit biased).
On a less sappy note.. We haven't been able to get Natalie to keep her clothes on lately when we're just here at the house. She seems to love running around in her diaper. This picture from earlier in the week cracks me up. Daddy has him a computer game buddy.
Hope you're having a good weekend!

A Page

I have quite a few pages to share, but I can't show you any of them yet. I have to wait a bit because it's Design Team work that hasn't been revealed yet, so stay tuned. I do have one page though:
I love this series of pictures from Natalie's birthday. Thanks to my brother for catching the whole "blowing out the candle" process.

I have some other pictures to share too, but here's the deal in my house today:
I have to put my pictures on John's computer lately because I've filled my laptop up and need to burn some DVD Backups to clear my harddrive. The WoW expansion pack came out today, so needless to say I do not have access to his computer right now, and I probably won't for quite some time. I'm surprised he even stopped long enough to eat. Oh wait. He didn't. He ate at his desk. :)

Family Photo

It occurred to me that we don't have a family photo since Abigail has been born, so one day last week I decided we were gonna go outside and take a few.

I think I will probably scrapbook this occasion just because it will be funny to my family years down the road.
1. We weren't really dressed for the occasion. I wanted to do this on a whim.
2. John had just given himself a haircut that went awry and had to shave his whole head.
3. I didn't have a tripod
4. I'm still trying to figure out that crazy remote.

Don't we look lovely?
Here's what we ended up with:
My poor husband looks so tired.
I did get this one cute one of Abby, even if I did cut off her the top of her head.
I found some adorable outfits for the girls. So my goal for this week is to make it to the park and take some more appropriate family pics before all the beautiful leaves fall off the trees.
And I bought a tripod, so we're good to go!

On This Day

I haven't ever posted anything political on my blog. At least I'm fairly certain I haven't. I use this blog mainly as a means to share pictures with family and friends and share scrapbooking stuff with my fellow scrapbookers. Do you hear a "but" coming? I also use this as a way to document life today for me and my family. So that being said, it's necessary to mention the election that took place yesterday.

I write this with mixed emotions. On one hand, I think we as a country made a huge mistake. However, I'm in the minority and thankfully we do live in a country where the people have the right to choose their own leader. THIS is a blessing, whether it turned out the way I think it should have or not. I still remain very concerned about the moral decline of this country, and I disagree with 0b@ma's economic policies 110%, but that doesn't change the fact that he will be our next president. As a friend of mine stated today on face book, I'm very thankful our founding fathers placed checks and balances in the system. So now, the prayers just change a bit.

I pray that God gives him wisdom.
I pray that God gives him guidance.
I pray that all the people that he has instilled such hope into, will now take that hope and make a difference in a positive way.
I pray that the historical significance that this election has, will help all people realize that it really is possible to achieve your goals, regardless of race or gender.
Regardless of how this turned out God is still in control. And the hope we have in him has always been there and will never EVER go away.
God Bless America
God Bless the 44th President of the United States.

Scrapbook Sussies November

This month's kit is full of Fancy Pants and Dream Street papers. And so many embellishments, I've got enough for MANY more layouts.

This kit also has a couple of vintage pages from an old Highlights magazine. I used one of them on this first page. I also cut out a lot of flowers from one of the patterned papers on a couple of these pages.

This one of Papa and Abigail is also for Creative Scrappers. The new sketch is up for the week.
This was my take.

Happy Halloween

Took some quick pics of the girls with their pumpkin shirts on.
Check out these 2 pics.

Poor Abby. The tortured little sis. But that look she gave Natalie is priceless.

Also notice the excessive amount of drool and spit up that managed to cover Abigail's bib in the 10 minutes I took these pics..

Happy Halloween!

You Think She Was Having Fun??

Natalie got to play with her cousin today, and we need to do it more often because they have so much fun together! Just had to share these couple of pics.

And here's one of Abigail from Sunday. Is it just me, or does she always have this open mouth, "huh"? look on her face? heh heh heh.
I'm busy working on my November Sussie layouts tonight.. so short and sweet.
Hope you're having a good week!

Latest Page

I haven't done much scrapping this past week. However I did get this one page done for the SYTYCS contest. We had to use some other shape as our focus other than the usual circles, squares, rectangles. I was eliminated this round, but I can participate in this week's challenge for a chance at the Wild Card spot to get back in the competition.

We'll see what happens!

I have lots of pics from the weekend with a weekend update. Be back later with that!

Tate Farms

For the sake of documenting our lives, the good and the bad, I have to say that Miss. N is SO being the 2 year old that she is right now. We have been having nap issues this week. Or to be more accurate, lack thereof. I've tried laying down with her, staying in the room with her, nothing seems to work this week. And it's not like she doesn't need it. She feel asleep in the car on the way to church Wednesday, only to be woken up and in a BAD mood for Bible class. And today when I tried staying in there with her, she almost dozed off numerous times. When she realizes this she starts pulling/playing with her hair, putting her hand in her mouth and gagging herself, and any other thing she can come up with to wake herself up. So after 45 minutes of this I finally left her room, pulled the door shut where she can't open it, and I am listening to her cry and scream as I type.
Suggestions Welcome...

On to Tate Farms..

The weather was pleasant and Natalie had a blast. From picking out her pumpkin, to playing in corn, to swinging with Daddy. It was a hit. Miss Abby had no idea what was going on, but we had fun with her in the corn pit. :)

And then on the ride home.. a very tired girl trying to stay awake..
